Wendy's clinical experience has focused on maternal and child nursing in acute care,community health, research and nursing administration settings. She has previously worked as a nurse midwife in private practice.

Her teaching experience has been in staff development, patient education and at the college level. Her nursing practice career has been in a variety of settings from large teaching hospitals to small rural hospitals and clinics.
